Second Read

Terms

Last updated 13 August 2026

The short version

Second Read is free. Save what you like, take it with you whenever you want, and do not use it to break the law or to attack the service. That is the whole agreement; the rest is detail.

Your content is yours

We claim no ownership of anything you capture. You are responsible for having the right to save what you save, and for how you use it afterwards. Copyright still applies to text you captured from somewhere else.

No guarantees

The service is provided as is. Text recognition is imperfect and will sometimes misread a character, which is why every capture is editable before and after saving. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, and we are not liable for losses arising from using it.

Export your library if it matters to you. The button is right there in your library, and it costs us nothing for you to use it.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service: attacking it, or using it to distribute unlawful material. If we ever shut Second Read down, we will give notice with enough time to export.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will say so by email before the change takes effect rather than quietly editing this page.
