Why this exists.
I kept screenshotting things. Book pages, slides, half a paragraph from something I could not select. Two thousand images sitting in a folder, none of them searchable, none of them ever opened again. Every tool I tried would happily store a highlight for me and not one of them ever made me look at one twice.
The bet behind Second Read is that the second part is the harder part. Saving is solved. Returning is not. So the whole product is built around one moment you already have forty times a day, which is opening a new tab, and it puts one thing you chose to keep into that moment instead of a search bar you were going to ignore.
There is a version of the next few years where most people quietly hand their thinking over to a machine and get slightly duller every quarter. Reading the same good thing five times is one of the few cheap defences against that.
What it will never do
No team features, no sharing, no importing from other tools, no paid tier. Possibly not ever. If it ever needs money to survive I will say so on this page before anything changes.
Who built it

Waris Hussain builds small tools and runs a growth studio for education startups. He is usually somewhere in Southeast Asia and reads more than he re-reads, which is roughly the whole point. warishussain.com
